At the Book Bank

Help us sort, organize and shelf books donated to the Book Bank!

Individuals or groups of volunteers are always needed to assist in the preparation of books to be placed on shelves.

This process includes labeling, sorting, and categorizing books appropriately. Student, collegiate, and professional groups are all invited. Each volunteer session must be at least 2 hours due to the volume of work and the associated learning curve.

The Book Bank serves Philadelphia teachers (members) every Wednesday (3:30 pm-6:30 pm) and is open for donations on Wednesdays from 9:00am-1:00pm).

Donate Books

Every teacher in Philadelphia is required to have a library in their classroom, yet they aren't given a budget to create one. Help us support our teachers by providing them with books their students will love!

Every book helps! Every book in the Book Bank is donated. Educators from across the city come to get books for their classroom libraries and to send home with their students.

During the 2017-2018 school year we distributed over 68,000 books to the community. We received around 19,000 books in donations. Please help us make sure we have enough books to fill the need!

You can plan a Book Drive during a family event, through your work or in your community.
